IEEE Computer Society is the largest society within IEEE, allowing members in the computing and information technology space to experience IEEE membership with resources, networking opportunities and leadership roles symbiotic to their profession.


Like many associations, the Society offers membership to higher education students at a reduced cost. While some student chapters do a great job promoting the Society and its benefits, another very important champion able to introduce the Society to students with merit is the school’s faculty — professors and advisors.

THE KEY TO THE CAMPAIGN WAS TO CREATE LITERAL RIGHT-OF-THE-BOX RESOURCES, ALONG WITH ONLINE TOOL, THAT FACULTY COULD USE IMMEDIATELY.

FACULTY & STUDENT OUTREACH

IEEE COMPUTER SOCIETY

IEEE Computer Society engaged with us to create a multi-media “Faculty Champion Toolkit” for pre-identified faculty members worldwide. The key to the campaign was to create literal “right-out-of-the-box” resources, along with online tools, that faculty could use immediately upon opening.

The kits included student membership brochures for distribution during lectures, a poster highlighting student benefits to be displayed in engineering building lounges (because we know engineers spend A LOT of time in school engineering buildings), and an infographic-based poster providing step-by-step instructions on starting student chapters for professors to hang in their offices.

Presentations to use when discussing the Society, along with talking points, additional flyers, and other material, were easily accessible online through a landing page created for the campaign. Once the toolkits were mailed, professors were notified via email to let them know what they would soon be receiving. This provided the opportunity for us to provide them with online links to the available resources.
